Case study: Ed Geater

Ed Geater is one of the most unique musicians in Birmingham, so when I was approached to work with Ed on an exciting PR campaign I just couldn’t say no.

In July 2016, Boda Fide Management approached me to work with them on a campaign surrounding Ed’s forthcoming EP, ‘Unseen’, and its accompanying live launch at Mama Roux’s on 27th October.

A six-week campaign was then agreed, from 12th September – 28th October 2016.

Once the music video was completed mid-July, work began on the press release in the w/c 19th September 2016 and was signed off on 24th September, ahead of a video premieré arranged by myself.

The lead single from Ed’s Unseen EP, ‘Symmetry’ was premiered via It’s All Indie on Monday 26th October.

From 26th September onwards, publications were contacted for the first time with the Unseen / Symmetry press release.

Secured coverage included Louder Than War, Brum Notes, What’s On Live, Smashed Vinyl & Nubi Magazine.

As part of the agreement, I also agreed to help with Ed Geater’s live bookings as it was expected that there would be more interest in the band following a campaign promoting the music video to a number of publications and promoters.

This resulted in the booking of Ed’s very first headline tour for March & April 2017 including dates in London, Nottingham and Cardiff.
